Intimacy Direction

If you're in any production that calls for a fight director to choreograph sword fighting, a slap, or even the firing of a gun, would you just wing it and "see what happens?

Of course not!

Why would scenes with intimacy be any different?

My work as an intimacy director aims to establish safe environments for arists in potentially unsafe theatrical moments. I work with all degrees of intimacy ranging from holdings hands and a kiss on the cheek to fully simulated sexual intercourse.

All are approached with the aim to center the artists in their needs so that they may enter these moments with the assurance that the choreography will remain consistent and safe.
